Frequently Asked Questions

At Enduring Legacies we believe that everyone has a story to tell and a legacy to pass on. We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions to help make the decision-making process simpler.

Is Enduring Legacies for me?

There are many reasons a family may choose to preserve their legacy. Whether you are celebrating an anniversary, wedding, engagement, birth, or wish to memorialize a family member, we can customize your project to suit your desires. We provide personalized service throughout the process, and you maintain full control over the direction of your project. We have highly trained, and experienced historians to help you document these valuable stories.

Can I purchase multiple packages?

Yes. You know what products would fit your family best. We will work with you to make sure that your family receives the products that would best speak to them.

Can I add onto my Commemorative Book, DVD, or research project later?

It is always possible to add onto a product after it is completed. This can happen as soon as the product is delivered or years later. Once the final approval process has taken place, you will need to purchase another package to do this.

Can I order extra copies of my Commemorative Book or DVD?

Yes. We can discuss at our Orientation how many copies of the final product you predict will be needed, and you will have the opportunity to review this number when we conduct the final review of your product.

Will you keep my information confidential?

We understand that confidentiality is very important to you. We will keep all of the documents and information associated with your product in a secure location, and you will maintain control of who sees or receives copies of the final product.

Who has final say on editing and design as well as on approving the final draft?

Final say over editing, design, and the final draft goes to the individual who pays for our services. If you are giving an Enduring Legacies package as a gift, the person who pays for the gift will maintain control over this process. It is up to this person to share access to these decisions with the gift recipient.

How can I give an Enduring Legacies product as a gift?

We offer Gift Certificates which can be purchased for any of our packages. We can send the recipient this Gift Certificate through the mail along with a Welcome Packet, or we can issue this Certificate to the purchaser.

How long do interviews last?

Typically, interviews last no longer than 1.5 hours. This allows the interviewer and the interviewee time to delve into stories without tiring each party. We will work with you to make sure that every story you desire to be documented will be.

Will I be able to prepare for interviews ahead of time?

Yes. We will provide you with a list of topics we anticipate delving into at least three days ahead of time. We want you to feel comfortable during the interview process, so you will be able to note any questions you are particularly interested in answering or topics that you wish to avoid. We will use your feedback to guide our discussion.

Can more than one person be interviewed for a project?

Yes. The number of interviews conducted and the number of people interviewed is entirely up to you. We do recommend that no more than two people be interviewed at one time. This allows for individuals to share their thoughts freely.

Will the interviews be conducted in person?

Typically, interviews will be conducted in person. If you have a friend or family member that lives at a great distance we can work with you to make sure that their stories are included in the final product as well.

How long will the process take?

This depends on several factors, which package you choose, how many interviews you wish to be conducted, how many people you wish to be interviewed, etc. After our orientation meeting we will be able to assess your project and provide you with an estimated time of completion. We anticipate that all projects will be completed in three months or less, depending on the scope.
